Beaver Hills UNESCO Biosphere
A stop by Strathcona is not complete without spending time at the Beaver Hills UNESCO Biosphere. This is a forest reserve that dates back to 1892, making it one of the oldest protected areas in all of Canada. The Biosphere is home to many unique spaces, including the Ministik Lake Game Bird Sanctuary, Strathcona Wilderness Centre, and Beaver Hills Dark Sky Preserve.
